As your U.S. Representative, I have had the privilege of serving you in the United States House of Representatives. While serving our district in Congress, I had the pleasure of working with Mayor Mike Wiza.
Mayor Mike has a knack for being able to bring people together in common goals and has a passion for the community like no other.
Leadership isn’t about doing things your way, it’s about taking the time to listen to all sides, getting good people together and finding solutions that make sense for everyone. That’s what Mike does and that’s why I support Mike Wiza.
-U.S. Representative Ron Kind, Wisconsin’s 3rd District
"I appreciate how you show up at most of the events that Midstate Independent Living Choices (MILC) holds for people with disabilities and how you have been open to listening and asked for assistance/opinions about things from people with disabilities. You usually seem open to new, more inclusive ways of doing things. Thank you for that…there really are no words. "

I first started working with Mike when we were on the Parks Board and were part of raising funds to build the city Dog Park. I was impressed with how he handled one of the committee members who often voiced negative comments about several people’s ideas.
When I was participating in the “Run from the Cops “event, I became compromised due to a health issue and Mike came back and walked the route with me to make sure I was safe.
Mike has supported our Audubon Society by helping Kent attend the Common Council to approve the “High Flyers” award and “Bird City Wisconsin” recognition for the city for 10 years.
Mike seems to be interested in wishing things were not just easier, but wishing they were better. We’re impressed, as mayor Mike supports our community. When there is an event in town, you can usually find Mike and wife, Chris attending. They even came to the senior care facility for our 60 th wedding anniversary party and visited with all the residents. Even during the Covid period, Mike had the ability to smile while wearing a mask.
We are supporting Mike Wiza for Mayor as we like his enthusiasm and not wanting to settle for the ordinary.

This past February you and your wife attended an event for the Epilepsy Foundation where you shared with me how epilepsy has affected your life. Your personal story has made an impact greater than you know. Your position and ability to connect with our community has opened up the epilepsy discussion and made a safe place for people to share their journey and reach out for help if needed.

Being Mayor suits you for several reasons, with one of the most important reasons being calm and collected in a crisis and you always know what to do or who can help.
- Amy Diser
You are by far the best Mayor that Stevens Point has ever had. I am amazed that you can be in so many places in one day and ALWAYS take the time to listen to people and make everyone feel included. I look forward to where you will take Stevens Point in the future! You have our vote for sure!
- Cheryl Meshak Filtz

"I feel bad for the towns/cities who do NOT have a Mayor exactly like you...You can be as serious as a heart attack...BUT YOU know just how to have FUN, and bring smiles to people you interact with...Thank YOU! "

"Thank you Mike & Chris not just for coming and supporting The Playhouse Theatre Group but taking the time to learn all the cast members names and making sure everyone feels valued & appreciated. Thank you for all your enthusiasm and support! We are grateful for all you do! "
- Tori Fletcher Schultz
"I have full confidence that you will succeed with your next term! You have my support! What impresses me about you is the fact that you are so engaged in the community. With Point being larger than most of the communities I have lived in, that’s impressive! You don’t see that these days."
- Juliana Zolondek
"You’ve actually helped me in numerous small and some very big ways and I don’t even live there! Thanks for always having the time to listen to another one of my crackpot ideas! May the next year shine bright on you and Point"

I was in attendance of this years pride and your speech was one of the best. You were simply addressing everybody from the heart. You didn’t need a cue card because it was coming from inside you. The main thing that stuck with me from that is you belong here. Those words have been echoing in my ear ever since. It sounds simple but it’s so much deeper than simple. You provided the encouragement to people that some times get overlooked in the community. Or people are to afraid to address because what the political repercussions could be. It doesn’t seem like you care much about that, but rather people as individuals. You gave me light in sometimes darker times. Simply with that one speech. Beyond that you are always encouraging and authentically yourself. You have people who give you flak but it seems like you let it roll off your back. That is such an admirable trait. Also, when talking about any type of politics it seems hard to trust most. However, you don’t seem like that. You seem like a person who loves their community and is just trying to be the best person that they can be. I live outside of Stevens Point, otherwise I would be there to vote for you. This community needs you. Who else would we talk to on Facebook? 🤣
You’re not only keeping a community going, you’re building onto it. Continuing to make it a better place for people to live. A better place for people to visit. I don’t like sharing things on Facebook like this sometimes because some people are ugly and try to ruin a good thing. You deserve good things. I hope you have the best and brightest birthday ever!
- Becky Smith
I personally appreciate how you have been accessible and involved in so many community events.
- Lois Precourt

I think you're the best mayor in the world! We're so fortunate in Stevens Point to have a leader who is truly part of the community, who is bold enough to take on challenges, and humble enough to sit back and learn.
- Chris Munson
I love how involved you are in the community even when it isn’t something you have control over, you provide resources to help out.
- Stephanie Seavers
Thank you for all you have done for me as well as the people in our community and beyond. Your position comes with a lot of good personal and community work and experiences but also pressure, difficult situations, decisions, controversy, and sacrifice for both you and your family. Please know that it does not go unnoticed.
- Trisha Steinhorst
In one capacity or another through the past 5 years you have supported projects I’ve worked on from everything from infrastructure to new business acquisition and a lot of things in between. The one constant you brought to each project was a robust love for the city and for the people within. That always impressed me
- Stacey Johnson
The kids and I moved to Point in 83.....YOU are the best Mayor I/WE have seen since way back then...and I HOPE to see you in that OFFICE for MANY more years...Keep up all the good work/the good things you have done for Point and it's citizens!!
- Cathy Schwartz
You always amaze me at how you seemingly attend every event and listen to everyone and accommodate as many as you can. I get tired just reading your posts. I wish you the best, and I’m sorry I can’t vote for you anymore since I live a block from the city border. You’ve got this !
- Jamie Hiler Mollica
I would agree that your passion for our community runs deep and is obvious to your constituency. Your daily efforts on our behalf are genuinely appreciated. You make our city a better place.
